NHS Digital Safeguarding Adults Collection - Local Definitions

Closed 5 Oct 2018

Opened 15 Aug 2018

The purpose of this brief survey is to understand how local authorities defined key elements of adult safeguarding activity in their 2017/18  Safeguarding Adults Collection (SAC) submission to NHS Digital.

Please respond with the definitions used in 2017/18; if your approach in any area is expected to change in 2018/19 please note this in the free text sections.

The results of this survey will be compiled and published verbatim as a reference document to assist users of the SAC publication and associated data outputs to better understand apparent variations in safeguarding practice and/or data recording between local authorities.

Your responses will also help inform the analysis performed by NHS Digital in the 2017/18 SAC publication.

The focus is on local definitions and practice rather than data quality, but if system and / or data recording issues meant that the data submitted did not reflect local practice, then this should be mentioned.

If you require clarification on any point or would like to discuss any aspect of the survey please contact the NHS Digital Safeguarding Statistics team using the contact details to the right.
