The national information standard for end of life care co-ordination was published in March 2012. This standard aims to support communication and co-ordination of end of life care between the professionals and services delivering care. In this way people approaching the end of life are supported to die in the place of their choosing and with their preferences and choices for care met. Minor amendments were made to the standard in October 2012.
The standard is being implemented across England through EPaCCS (Electronic Palliative Care Co-ordination Systems). Feedback on the standard from implementers, systems suppliers, the professional assurance group, the technical advisory and development group has been reviewed and some additional changes to the standard are proposed to improve its usability and effectiveness.
We wish to consult with users and implementers on our change proposals and would be very grateful if you will complete this short questionnaire. The consultation is running throughout July, closing on Wednesday 31 July 2013.
The proposed changes are scheduled for submission to the ISB meeting on 30 October.
.Your comments will be submitted for review by the End of Life Clinical & Professional Assurance Group, before subsequent clinical appraisal by ISB during September 2013.
